El Molino del Conde is a unique and beautiful Andalucian cortijo which was a working water mill and bakery until the end of the 20th century, supplying bread (by mule) to local farms and villages.
This is a large country house with extensive grounds, private swimming pool and sports court for tennis, volleyball, badminton...
The rental accommodation of El Molino del Conde is arranged as two wings around a central courtyard:
El Molino Viejo is the eastern wing of the house, renovated from the old mill building and retaining its original features. Here you'll find the main kitchen, living and dining rooms together with 5/6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
La Casa del Molino was formerly the house of the master baker and has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a second kitchen.
El Molino Viejo can be available as a separate rental, giving 8-12 guests exclusive use of El Molino del Conde, the pool and gardens.

7 lovely bathrooms
There are 7 bath/shower rooms, 4 of which are en-suite. These are bathrooms where you can pamper yourself after a long day's sunbathing... or fit 3 small children in a bath and let them get on with it.
Lots of hot water. Large fluffy bath sheets. Plastic ducks provided for the children among you .....!

A choice of dining spaces
Choose your dining area to suit the mood. Breakfast on the kitchen terrace watching the antics of the ducks and listening to the hens laying your morning egg, lunch in the vine-shaded courtyard, ramble down to the stream with the children for a picnic tea and set the table by the pool in the evening for a long convivial dinner... (all this and you haven't used the large Comedor dining room yet!)
Time for family and friends
For big groups, the pergola by the pool provides plenty of shade and there's space for everyone around the large table.
Indoors the Comedor dining room seats 18 and you can easily spread out into the adjacent Old Bakery kitchen which seats a further 10 people. (We also have booster seats and high chairs, so the whole family can eat together)

Self-catering in style
The Old Bakery kitchen still features the original bread oven .... but now has a restaurant grade cooker and a dishwasher too.
Cook with fresh eggs from El Molino's chickens and fresh herbs from our gardens. In season, you can harvest pomegranates, peaches, almonds,grapes, mulberries and cherries straight from the garden.
BBQs & paellas by the pool
As well as the Old Bakery kitchen in the main wing of he house, there's a family kitchen in La Casa del Molino, a large stone barbecue by the pool and we have large a portable gas ring and cylinder, specifically designed for big paella pans (which we also provide).

Vegetables fresh from our valley
Buy fresh fruit and vegetables from Maria in the local village market (she grows most of it in her huerto, 5 minutes stroll along the lane from El Molino) the rest of the produce is brought fresh from the Málaga markets every morning by her husband Cristóbal.

Hassle-free catering
If you want a night off, we can arrange for Gracia and Lola to come in from the village and cook for you: select from a range of local tapas and dishes such as paella, tortilla, gazpacho or gambas pil-pil.

Enjoy tranquil gardens
El Molino del Conde has 3 acres of gardens with lawns, flowers and a wide range of trees including pomegranates, mulberries, peaches, almonds, olives, lemons, palms and cherries.
The swimming pool area has sunny and shady terraces and a large shady pergola for dining.
For the more active, there's also a games area (and a sandpit for children).
Holiday Activities!
The games area in the gardens has a floodlit sports court - a 3/4 size tennis court suitable for family tennis, badminton or volleyball.
We have badminton and tennis rackets and a volleyball. The net can be adjusted for each sport.
For "serious" tennis players, it's also easy to hire a tennis court in Villanueva de Tapia.

Space to just relax
El Molino del Conde has lots of spaces where the whole family can enjoy time together, but there are also plenty of smaller private terraces and seating areas around the gardens where you can escape with a book and just enjoy the tranquility.
Indoor and outdoor games areas
As well as the floodlit sports court, there's also a studio for indoor cinema (with projector and screen). The studio is also used for yoga and pilates (we have mats). There's a petanque piste (the Spanish version of the French boules), a table tennis table and a sand-pit.
There are also board games, jigsaw puzzles and lots and lots of books...
